As a New York area-based nutrition writer, educator, and counselor, my goal is to make healthy eating delicious, easy, fun, and fashionable. That’s why I founded RMW Nutrition—a company that brings together my varied experiences working in magazines, schools, and clinical settings with my unabashed passion for fantastic food.

I am a registered dietitian nutritionist (RDN) with an MS in nutrition communication from the Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy at Tufts University, and a BA in magazine journalism from the University of Maryland, College Park. I completed my dietetics training through Utah State University with rotations in and around NYC. As a member of the American Dietetic Association I am part of the Dietitians in Business and Communication, Food and Culinary Professionals, Hunger and Environmental Nutrition and Dietitians in Integrative and Functional Medicine dietary practice groups.

On any given day you might find me tapping away on my laptop, teaching school kids the difference between artificial foods and unprocessed ones, helping a client learn to manage diabetes naturally, or wandering around a city farmers market shopping for produce to cook for dinner. Sharing my love for eating well is at the core of everything I do, and I am always eager to find new ways to reach people.

My biggest obsession is helping young people, especially teens and college-age, figure out how to navigate this crazy nutrition landscape of ours. I'm happy to share my newest project in this realm, my book A Teen's Guide to Gut Health: The Low-FODMAP Way to Tame IBS, Crohn's, Colitis, and Other Digestive Disorders (The Experiment 2017). If you're a young person with belly troubles, this is the book for you. "Like" it on Facebook! I'm also proud of my first book and corresponding blog, The Smart Girl's Guide to Going Vegetarian (Sourcebooks Fire 2014). If you're a veg-curious teen (or the parent or friend of one), I hope you'll check it out. It's also on Facebook and Instagram.
